We all have tattoos---what does yours say about you?

12/31/2015

Each of us has a tattoo, actually several. Some are inked on while others aren't visible. The tattoos I'm referring to are how you feel about yourself and the judgments you make about yourself. You may cover up your tattoo; working hard to be who you aren't. Your fear is that others will judge and not like (or love) you if they could really see you!  Instead you cover up your tattoo, and work hard at pretending what you aren't. If you've read previous letters you know this pretending leaves you feeling shame and shame grows in silence, secrecy, and judgment.

You might be thinking---Thanks, Beth. Here I am ready to start a new year, a time of optimism and hope and now this tattoo thing?!  KEEP READING……

Are you ready to shed the tattoos you no longer want and go into 2015 freer and happier?

Step 1:  Identify the tattoos you wear by listening to your self-talk

  • When you make a mistake do you call yourself names like "stupid", "idiot", or worse? Your  tattoo might look like this: INADEQUATE
  • If it seems to take you longer to learn something than other people do you put yourself down? Your tattoo might look like this: SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH ME
  • When you don't remember something do you judge yourself negatively?  You tattoo may look like this: STUPID
Step 2:  Learn how to challenge this "doubt-talk"
  • Ask--- if one of your best friends or child were to do any of the above would you call them any of those names?
  • Would you ever let anyone call one of your best friends or child one of those words?
  • Now begin treating yourself like you do them!
Step 3:  Redesigning your tattoo!
  • People with inked tattoos they no longer like (think before you ink!) can have them removed or have a tattoo artist create another tattoo changing the previous design into something beautiful.
  • Ask yourself what you really want your tattoo to say about you and write it down right now. That's right, right now! You now get to choose what you want it to say and how you want to feel about yourself!
  • Here is a story about a woman who had a double mastectomy and chose to have her chest beautifully tattooed.  Instead of her chest saying cancer, it says I'm beautiful!
As you may already know my work is about helping people remove and re-ink their tattoos; it's an honor and privilege to be a part of this transformation!

P.S. You'll want to open and read January's emails as they will include special offers!

Here's to a wonderful, joy-filled, love-filled 2016,

Beth

Are you needing some peace and calm?

Do you want to feel calmer and more relaxed this season?
  1. First get a pen and paper (or your phone/tablet). Write a list of what’s most important for you to experience (not to give or get) the rest of this week and next. Pick your top answer and then ask yourself what steps can you take right now to make this happen. Next, put that plan into action today. Even a small step takes you closer to where you want to be!

  2. Remember to breathe! How you breathe can actually increase your sense of well-being. Here’s how: take a deep breath in to the count of 4, filling  your belly with air as you do.  Hold it for a 4 seconds. Now s-l-o-w-l-y exhale to the count of 8. Repeat 2-3 more times. This way of breathing triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for slowing down heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and increase flowing endorphins----the body’s own natural relaxant! REPEAT often.

  3. A well needs a constant source of water to keep full. What are the sources that nourish you? Go ahead and create time just for you on a regular basis: carve time to enjoy an activity that brings you joy, spend time in nature, or take an afternoon nap.

The Winter Dread and change

12/18/2015

This time of year, going into Winter, used to fill me with dread. For me it was a time when it was dark and very cold and with the leaves gone from the trees everything looked bleak. My mood was bleak, too.

What changed?  My perception.

A friend pointed out that the trees weren't dead but active in their roots as they had gathered nourishment for the hard time ahead. I learned the Winter Solstice is the longest day of darkness and the following days are imperceptibly filled with more light as we move towards Springtime. And Winter lasts just 3 months! With all this in mind I felt better and I stopped feeling down. I still don't like how cold it gets but it doesn't affect me the same way.

It's amazing, isn't it, how a change in our perception and, therefore, our thoughts profoundly change how we feel!

Did you know hypnosis is a tool that changes perceptions and thoughts that don't serve you? Such thoughts are what lead to smoking, being overweight, feeling depressed or anxious, procrastination, and feeling stuck in your life.

Is there something you want to change in your life so that 2016 is your year? Whether it's a personal or professional change hypnosis can help you!

Are you wanting to learn more? It's quick and easy---click on this link and schedule your 20 minute personal, complimentary Hypnosis Discovery Session today. It may be the most important 20 minutes you spend on yourself!

Warmest of Regards,

Beth

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy...

Here's a quote I think we can all benefit from reading, remembering and using!

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open."
