Eat, Pray, Love (Repeat)

4/29/2015

The last 2 weeks of my life have reminded me of how uncertain life is. Two family emergencies occurred one involving my youngest the other my brother.  One was life threatening but now both are on the mend. I asked many people to send prayers and healing energy to them and I am so very grateful. I've also experienced shifts in close relationships which have allowed me to learn more about myself and not always with a smile on my face----going deeper within isn't always fun while you're doing it. But I'm a major fan of the afterwards!

With all that's been happening I've had many moments of overwhelm. I turned to a movie that speaks to me and inspires me---Eat Pray Love. The book and movie Eat Pray Love chronicles the beginning of Liz Gilbert's inner journey. Eat is finding her appetite for life again (including for food) so she travels to Italy.  Pray is to connect deeply with God and Spirit within when she goes to India. Love brings her to Bali where she's confronted by how to live in balance while opening her heart to love and being love.

I watched the movie for the first time a few years ago, twice around the time of my separation with my husband, and just the other day. Each time I've seen it I've been in a different place in my life so different nuisances emerge. This time, now that we're divorcing, I was touched in a different way, a deeper way. The Physics of the Quest (click to view) hit home and my heart in a whole new way. It's on my computer's Bookmark tab so I can view it when I need to come back to my knowingness. It is the journey of my life.

For my birthday my friend Leslie gave me a poem that she said spoke of my journey and she wanted me to have a copy of it.  I've included it below for your reading.

Is your suitcase of courage packed?

4/22/2015

Recently a client referred to his suitcase of courage saying it was a term used in the biking community when facing a big challenge, obstacle or fear. I Googled the term and read different takes on what it means. Isn't it interesting that 3 words can be given different meanings all based on the perception of the person writing it? I guess it's another "is the cup half full or half empty?" take on things. I choose the full cup thank-you!

Right now my suitcase of courage is packed full and I'm taking it with me wherever I go. Emotionally I'm being really challenged, there are lots of unknowns, and I'm tired. That suitcase is my nourishment, flotation device, anchor, cheerleader, a soft place to rest my head, and friend. Truth be told it's packed with my tools, friends, and supports and yes, courage!

The S.H.I.N.E. process is packed in there, too.

S: I'm not Stuck.

H: There are Hurdles that aren't mine and those that I'm reducing in size.

I: I realize I need to clarify my Intentions and write them down so they guide my thoughts, feelings, and actions.

N: I am Nurturing my dreams but I need to spend more time empowering them. As a hypnotist I know fantasizing your dream using all of your senses, while charging it with the emotions of receiving and living the benefits/outcome, creates a powerful shift in your vibration and energy. This shift assists you in bringing your dreams into being.

E: I am Embracing my brilliance by knowing I'm doing my best, connecting with friends who are giving me valuable insights and words of support and encouragement. They are on the shore as I'm crossing this turbulent river cheering me on. I am the only one who can do the crossing but them being there with me makes the difference!

Because of all this I am able to cheer on a person who is near and dear to my heart who is also crossing their own rapids. I am on their shore as they make their way!

I feel so well loved while I'm swimming (sometimes I'm doggy paddling!). I know I am using my ability to swim across the river. I don't have to like every part of this journey but like carbon when it's under pressure I'm becoming a brilliant diamond and shining more brightly.

Got to get back to my swimming…….

How to spring into change

Spring is a time of renewal, freshness, clearing, and energy; just notice what having more sunshine is doing for your disposition!  I know I feel more energized with these longer hours of sunlight while the temperature is warming up.  I'm looking at my home and what I'm ready to purge and what it's going to require of me to follow through!  I know there are more changes up ahead as well.

Perhaps you're ready or getting ready to change something in your life that feels stale or depleting you of energy.  Maybe it's something on a more personal level.   Change is a process and for it to take hold you'll need to address not only what you think but how you perceive things.

Perhaps you don't know where to start or need some support.

If you're serious and ready to start that change now, whether to stop a "bad" habit or establish a good one, to feel better emotionally, physically, and mentally or take your life to the next level then there's an upcoming course you'll want to check out but it's coming soon (Saturday, April 25) and space is limited to 12 people! 7th Path Meditative Self-Hypnosis has assisted many people in making good healthy changes in their life.  I teach it to one-on-one clients to enhance their results and teach them "how to fish".  You'll get to use your inner hard drive (your Subconscious Mind) to create this change.

Are you saving or investing?

4/8/2015

Just like financial growth, our personal growth is about whether we're saving or investing in ourselves. When in "Savings Mode" we're busy staying who and where we are with some interest accrued. On the other hand when in "Investing Mode" we're exploring ways to expand and grow further than what or who we currently are. Keep in mind that neither is the right one to be in and that we can use both modes at the same time.

The important question to ask yourself: Does that mode allow me to embrace my brilliance?

My birthday is coming up really soon and this question takes on a lot more significance; I look at my natal day as being a time to consciously reflect and choose who do I want to be this coming year?

And my portfolio needs more investing this year!

A lot more play and fun tops this year's list! Letting go of the material stuff I've accrued over the years that I don't use/love/want check (my dad, who recently moved, strongly suggests this). I'm going to learn how get really good at doing the hula hoop ("K"---Jeopardy, here I come!). Those cabaret style belly dancing classes I've wanted to take for years consider done--the belly dancing outfit I have has been sitting in my closet way too long! I'm also adding traveling by plane somewhere, perhaps using the passport I need to get!

You don't have to wait for your next birthday to check your portfolio!

Do you ever feel drained or overwhelmed?

4/1/2015

In the hustle and bustle of the everyday we may find ourselves tired, drained, overwhelmed, overly sensitive and maybe even depressed.

Have you ever felt this way? I know I have.

Last Monday I woke up just wanting to stay in bed curled up in a ball and sleep the day away. I didn't as there were things I needed to do and I knew isolating myself would compound how I felt. I felt sad and incredibly lonely, a loneliness I don't remember ever experiencing. Not only was it an emotion but a feeling deep within my body that hurt.

I didn't feel like me.

As the fortunes would have it I already had down on my calendar a meeting with a circle of wonderful women and then one-on-one time with a friend.  By the way I don't believe in coincidences. A conversation in the group centered on how we can take on the energy/feelings of people around us and how it can sometimes be challenging to know when it's not ours. One of the women in the circle even asked if someone in the group was sad. I raised my hand.

It wasn't till later on when I spoke with my friend that I realized I hadn't put together that the loneliness I felt, the depth with which I felt it, wasn't mine. I had picked up on the loneliness of another person. Once I asked myself if this was about me or not the depth of that loneliness lifted. Making that distinction shifted my mood and that physical hurt feeling faded. I still felt sad which made perfect sense given loses and changes going on in my life right now.

People who are highly sensitive, what others would call empathic, can experience taking on the energies and/or feelings of others. Knowing this is helpful in clearing what's yours and what's not. If you're interested in learning more here is an article to help you know if you or someone you know is such a person.
