- First get a pen and paper (or your phone/tablet). Write a list of what’s most important for you to experience (not to give or get) the rest of this week and next. Pick your top answer and then ask yourself what steps can you take right now to make this happen. Next, put that plan into action today. Even a small step takes you closer to where you want to be!
- Remember to breathe! How you breathe can actually increase your sense of well-being. Here’s how: take a deep breath in to the count of 4, filling your belly with air as you do. Hold it for a 4 seconds. Now s-l-o-w-l-y exhale to the count of 8. Repeat 2-3 more times. This way of breathing triggers the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for slowing down heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and increase flowing endorphins----the body’s own natural relaxant! REPEAT often.
- A well needs a constant source of water to keep full. What are the sources that nourish you? Go ahead and create time just for you on a regular basis: carve time to enjoy an activity that brings you joy, spend time in nature, or take an afternoon nap.
I look forward to talking with you!
