Have you ever noticed a difference between asking for general ‘surface’ type things like directions or information and asking for something for you? I was having a conversation with a friend who is in the midst of huge changes as she’s creating a new life and this subject came up; she’s having trouble asking her friends and communities for help saying she didn’t feel deserving and that her pride is in the way as she should be able to do this herself.
Can you relate?
I certainly did. She was open to ideas so I suggested writing a letter or email to the people in her life letting them know what’s happening, how important they are to her and how they make a difference in her life, and that she needs and would appreciate their help.
Why can it feel shameful to need let alone ask for help?
I listened to my own counsel and sent a similar email to my friends that night. I asked for their help for the same reasons my friend had – to be able to contribute to and make a difference in the world.
I’m gathering my courage to ask you for your help too.
My work, who I am is about assisting people in being all that they are and to freely live the life they’re here to live while experiencing more joy and happiness as they do. Doing this requires clearing the internal negative and limiting voices and thoughts you carry that show up in the form of distracters/habits such as smoking, overeating, feelings of sadness or anxiousness, and fears. This is the focus of what I do whether working with private clients or groups.
So I’m asking for and would appreciate your help.
Below is information and a link to the free seminars I am leading next week in Delaware and I’d love if you came, brought friends and family, and passed this information on to people you know whose lives can change because they came too. There will be a very special offer to those who attend when they go on and work with me one-on-one. Time is short I know (and seating limited) – I had my fears about asking for something for me from you – but I don’t want to stay in that fear anymore.
And yes, this was difficult to do but you gave me the opportunity to be bold and speak up. I hope my actions inspire you to ask for what you need too! This is changing the world one person at a time my friend! Pass it on.
