Is your life on autopilot?

7/27/2018

There was something very odd about the intersection, causing me and my friend to feel quite afraid. It wasn’t until the next block that we knew what the problem was - when we made the left-hand turn, cars were kept to the left side of the road. As a result, it felt as if we might be in the crosshairs of oncoming traffic--how scary is that?
Here in the United States, we’re taught to drive on the right side of the road; it’s so engrained that you don’t even think about it. It isn’t until something stops you from staying on automatic pilot, that you start waking up to what’s happening around you, and see where you are.
Are there areas of your life on autopilot?
Living life on autopilot means not being awake to what’s around you and as a result, you may find yourself just going through the motions, whether it’s your work, your relationships, how you spend your time, even where you live.
Do you find yourself just going through the motions? Believe it or not, the work I do with clients is a powerful way to wake up and stop the autopiloting. It can help you feel a real sense of purpose in your life as well as appreciating your skills, talents, and abilities.
Are you ready to wake up?

Virtual Hypnosis: It's easier than you think!

People ask how I can do virtual hypnosis sessions. More to the point is how I can hypnotize someone at a distance? As an experienced hypnotist with almost two decades of experience, it’s rather simple.

It doesn't matter if we're on Zoom or in the same room
I tell them, “During most of the session your eyes are closed, so it doesn’t really matter if we’re in the same room or not.” and, most of the time they laugh. As for how I can hypnotize someone using FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom, I let them know it’s really quite easy. Hypnosis occurs all the time, when people watch a movie or a television program, and phones/tablets/or computers are really no different!

By following my instructions, a client easily achieves a nice level of hypnosis (a state of increased focused of concentration) while being open to selective acceptable suggestions, ones they helped create. Hypnosis is what allows you to work at the core of what’s been blocking changes you want to make; it lets us work on the cause, not “treat”, so to speak, a symptom.

But don't take my word alone. Here's what two clients have said:
"I was fortunate enough to have begun working with Beth while she was still in Delaware, and when she moved, I got to experience a virtual sessions. As technology is one of my challenges, I found it easiest to simply FaceTime with Beth on my phone. Even with the small screen of my phone, it was simply like having her in the room with me. The work was just as profound, Beth was just as delightful, and just as capable to deeply and serenely place me in hypnosis. I would not hesitate to do more virtual work with Beth, and would offer complete reassurance to anyone who might be concerned about the difference"
Lisa Straughn

"Can you be “virtually” hypnotized? Absolutely, and for me, it’s the very best way. My sessions with Beth have been life changing. They’ve taught me things about myself that I never knew. They’ve made the seemingly impossible, possible. This work is deeply emotional and I really prefer being in the comfort of my own home, wrapped up in my own blanket. After our sessions, I just want to relax, lie back and let my discoveries wash over me. I can’t imagine having to get in the car and navigate traffic. For me, having a peaceful time to reflect after our sessions is almost as important as the work I do with Beth. I am grateful every single day for my new-found peace. If you’re reading this, I think you’re ready too.Be amazed."

5 Tips to Deal with Life's Gutter Balls

7/3/2018

Recently I listened to an interview with Jerry Seinfeld. At one point, he talked about his children, bowling, and how bumper guards don’t allow gutter balls. He asked the question (not verbatim): “Why do we prevent children from getting gutter balls; are we afraid they won’t survive the experience?”
1. Get Ready, Set Aim

Do what many professional athletes know and use --- practice in your own mind! By engaging all your five senses, you create a sensory rich experience that is as effective as actually engaging in the activity!
2. Gutter Balls Happen
You can use it as OMG! or as your inspiration.
3. Course Correct
What can you learn from what worked and what didn’t? Remember, both your mistakes and your successes are equally valuable and important.
4. Imitate Children
Have you ever watched young children at they play? They can have a lot of fun, can’t they? Children learn and experiment through play. How can you make your learning fun?
5. Be Like an Amish Quilt
When Amish women make quilts, they always include a mistake in their sewing. Most people don’t notice it; all they see is a beautiful quilt. They do this to remind themselves that God is the only being that doesn’t make mistakes. How freeing is that, to be perfectly human?
