3,280 miles - I’m not in Kansas any more

Thursday, January 19th I was on the road for 11 hours driving all the way to Phoenix. West Texas was incredible with its open vistas and sky! I was a part of the landscape all around me and it was humbling.

After about 6 hours I finally crossed the border into New Mexico and shouted with joy – I was getting closer to my home. Plus I got to see these beautiful license plates (check them out)!

Before leaving New Mexico all traffic was stopped by the Border Patrol; single file you slowed down and the officer flagged you on. Not me.

I was stopped and asked if I was driving alone and all I could think of is “where could anyone fit?” and “can’t you see the suitcase and other items occupying the passenger seat?” I answered yes and to whether I was an American citizen. I don’t know about you but this never happened in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland or anywhere else on the east coast.

It was then I thought: “I’m not in Kansas anymore!” Border Patrol stops are very common here, especially southern Arizona.

Late morning Saturday I headed to Tucson. My brother drove his car down to help me move in and to bring an air mattress and some chairs (remember, all I brought in terms of furniture was my Nordic Track). My friend Jack drove down too to help. It was still boggling my mind that I was moving into my new home, starting my life here from almost scratch.

When I opened the door I was finally home.

My journey continues as I create the space I want to live in with joy, creativity, and fun. Sometimes feeling the fun has been difficult as everything I do requires more energy, time, and effort as I don’t know how to get from point A to point B. I have no idea the best way to do my shopping, from groceries to household items and office supplies. Thanks to my iPhone’s GPS I don’t get lost just confused at times!

It was Jack who told me that in about 3 months I will know where I’m going just like I did in Delaware and in the meanwhile have fun with it all. I’m taking his wise words and doing my best to do just that. A map of Tucson is next on my list so I can see in my hands the layout of the roads so I have a sense of where I am (or not). I like the GPS but it doesn’t orientate me the same way to my space.

Oh, and I got mail! Guess it’s official I’m here. I also had my first virtual session on Tuesday which was great and have a number of sessions next week too.

I have this wonderful opportunity I’ve created and stepped into and I’m filled with deep gratitude.

2,388+ miles

This journey has had me look at what it is I need, want, and/or desire and as a result I’ve needed to become unattached to being attached. I’m starting a new book in my life which means it has to, in turn, look and feel different too; if they stay the same so will my life. It is disorientating which I know is also part of the process in creating a new life.

One day a friend told me that she was envious of the freedom and adventure I’m on. She did this when I wasn’t sure what route to take and was temporarily lost so I didn’t feel much freedom at the time! Then I had the epiphany: having freedom does not mean we are in control. We have the freedom, when we use it, to choose how we will respond or what meaning we make of a situation or person. I can’t tell you how freeing this was for me!

I’ve been told by a number of people, both before and during my move, that I’m very courageous doing what I’m doing from driving over 2,388 miles alone, moving to Tucson, creating my work in the Southwest, to leaving what I’ve known for the last 30 years.

And here’s what I wish for you ---

The courage to live the life you are here to live! If you don’t know what this is I encourage you to go within and discover and then listen to your inner voice and knowingness that is just waiting for you to ask. It is best if you listen with all of your intelligences – emotional, intellectual, imaginal, body, other senses and if this resonates with you, I will add other lifetimes and dimensions. Do you have questions about this? Get in touch with me and we can talk once I’m in Tucson.

Do you know where the biggest power of the Universe is?

A colleague sent this and it struck a chord in me -

"An old fairy tale speaks about gods & goddesses who had to decide where they should hide the biggest power in the universe so that mankind would not find it before they are ready to use it responsibly.

One suggested hiding it on the top of the highest mountain. But they realized that mankind would climb the highest mountain soon and find the biggest power of the universe before they would be ready for it.

Another suggested that the power could be hidden on the bottom of the ocean. But again, they realized that mankind would explore this region as well and find the biggest power of the universe before they would be ready for it.

Finally the wisest above them suggested: "I may know what to do. Let us hide the biggest power of the universe within men. No men will look there before being wise enough to take the journey within himself.
So it came that the biggest power of the universe was hidden within mankind itself. And there it still is, waiting to be found & taken and create wise use out of it."

- A Friend

What power is buried within you waiting to be discovered? Do you have the wisdom to pursue it?

If you're waiting for the perfect time I don't think there is one if a perfect time means you're 100% certain or free of any concerns or fear. Perhaps this is part of the wisdom that's needed, that 100% certainty and a guarantee aren't needed to start the journey within yourself, if they even exist. Maybe it's the willingness to just start, to not know where you'll be going let alone where you'll land.

What if the fear that holds you back doesn't?

Do you want to learn how you can do that? Click here and schedule your personal complimentary Discovery Session and make 2017 your year to tap in the power that's you!
