Trauma

trau·ma  (trôm, trou-)
n. pl. trau·mas or trau·ma·ta (-m-t)
1. A serious injury or shock to the body, as from violence or an accident.
2. An event or situation that causes great distress and disruption.
(The Free Dictionary by Farlex)

Perhaps one of these definitions describes you or someone you know

Many situations can cause trauma such as war, a natural disaster, abuse, violence, and even childbirth.  What they have in common is the fear of having been helpless.

Whatever the cause, trauma can lead to you smiling on the outside while, on the inside; you feel depressed, anxious, sad, angry or frustrated.  You can experience emotional wounds---the shock which the body absorbs from violence, an accident, or situations where you felt completely helpless.   Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is but one expression of trauma.

For over 18 years Beth Keil worked as a Maternal/Child Nurse meeting women who were traumatized during their pregnancies and/or during childbirth. Things just didn't go the way they expected. They did not feel included in the process when medical interventions occurred.  As a result, they felt helpless and not in control. Sheila Kitzinger, noted social anthropologist specializing in pregnancy and childbirth, in her book Birth Crisis, reports what is being commonly diagnosed as postpartum depression is actually PTSD and needs to be addressed as such.

Bryan Ross has been separated from his family, been deployed, and has seen firsthand what PTSD does to those who come back from war. Thought not a combat veteran he's helped many of his friends who are. Being a member of the armed forces gives Bryan a wide range of tools and experiences draw from to help with people suffering from normal everyday problems.

Hypnosis can help!

Hypnosis doesn't have the side effects that medications can cause; it is a natural, drug free way of helping you get to the root of what keeps triggering the trauma, neutralize it, and put in place what you want to experience---safety and security and a sense of control.
