A little woo-woo

Ok, let me start with what I mean by “woo-woo”. This word has come to be paired with something in the spiritual, energetic, or perceptual realms outside what a person feels, understands, or is comfortable with. It can also come with some judgment as well. My hope is if there’s any judgment you have that you suspend it for a few minutes or however long it take you to read this note and allow yourself a moment where a new possibility might open up.

This past weekend I was in Sedona, AZ attending a seminar with Pete Sanders, an M.I.T. Honors Graduate, author, and teacher who brings his scientific perspective to what I’ve referred to as the “woo-woo”. I’m including two websites to learn more about this incredible place, Pete’s and one that speaks more to the metaphysical. I encourage you to read both.

I don’t know how else to describe Sedona but as magical. From the red rock formations that rise into the sky with valleys below to the energy it holds I am transformed as I drove into town.

This was my third time coming to Sedona. This time I found myself meeting many people who I connected with on deeper levels – from the man behind the front desk of my hotel who I got to work with briefly and who got freedom around emotional pain he’d been carrying for so long, a woman who worked in one of the shops with whom I exchanged many hugs with and know will be part of an upcoming project of mine, to the woman who sat next to me at the seminar (we were 2 peas in a pod connecting as if we’d known each other for years which others thought we had!).

I felt so at home and known.

During the seminar we were given time to explore the vortexes and use techniques and concepts we learned. I found being open and involved (i.e./ present) enhanced my experience and led to moments of understanding, clarity, and transformation. Now there are many ways for all of this to happen, Sedona is one of those places that seems to concentrate the energy so that it’s easier to tap into it and use it even if you’re not consciously aware of it. I realized and honored I was in a space of receiving instead of creating and generating energy out into the world and allowed myself the gift it gave me.

Of course my mind went to teaching in Sedona including 7th Path Meditative Self-Hypnosis perhaps this fall; this way people can experience this profound practice surrounded by this profound energy. How amazing would that be?
