Fashion and fitness magazines provide images of how you're "supposed" to look and act. It could be used, if you want, as a measuring stick for being beautiful and/or successful.
What about "all the news that's fit to print" (the motto of the New York Times)? However, many days it seems that the only news that gets printed is that which focuses on doom and gloom.
But here is something you need to remember----any reality that is generated outside of you is created by someone else, so you need to ask: what guides the reality they are creating?
What about the reality that comes from within, that is based on your own feelings, knowingness, and experiences such as your intuition and insight? This view of reality is one that you have a say in, where you get to decide if the cup is half empty or half full!
Perception is the name of the game, and truth be known, it all starts from the inside. In her book Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy, Sarah Ban Breathnach suggests greeting each day by saying, "Thank you ** for the blessings of this wonderful day!" (** if you have a higher power, you can use that name here). By starting your day in this way, even if at first you don't believe it, with time it will have a positive affect. This simple greeting has the power to change your perception to one of a full cup, but only if you want it. I used to see the world as half empty until I greeted my days this way; now I see it overflowing with joy and love.
Now, what about DNA and reality? I've included below an interesting article on what some studies are pointing to, that previous generation's experience with trauma can be passed on genetically.
